Restless Legs Syndrome 270112

leave a comment »

Sometimes, I get restless legs syndrome at night whenever I consume too much caffeine (in excess of 6 mugs).

Two paracetamol tablets will do the trick.

Fake AV And Chrome

leave a comment »

I got hit by the Fake AV virus a few days ago when I turned off my antivirus by accident. It was removed with Malwarebytes.

However, Google Chrome became unresponsive after the virus was removed. The only way to make it work was to add –no-sandbox to the end of target. I don’t know what that means, but it is definitely not a proper fix to get Chrome up and running.

The minimalistic layout of Chrome is something new and appreciated, but they don’t work too well with online payment forms. That is the last thing I want to screw up.

That’s it, I’m going back to Firefox.

[ Update: 280510 ]

Subsequently, Windows DHCP Client and Windows Audio services refused to start up automatically, despite having Startup Type set to Automatic.

The problem is due to a Rootkit.Win32.TDSS malware which can be removed with TDSSKiller.

PSP Upgrade From 3.71 M33 to 5.50 GEN-D3

leave a comment »

Some resources for you to upgrade your PlayStation Portable (PSP).

I am not responsible if you end up (you could) bricking your PSP.

Just ask the experts on the relevant sites if you are not sure. I have only done it on a PSP-1000 and PSP-2000. At first I wasn’t sure if the PSP-2000 had a TA088v3 motherboard. I proceeded with the upgrade, prayed hard, and it worked out fine.

Instructions

Firstly, upgrade your PSP from 3.71 M33 to 5.00 M33-6. Then use the XGEN Updater to update the version to GEN-D3.

Important: Do not attempt to install the XGEN updater on PSP-3000 / PSP-2000 TA088v3. You will brick your PSP if you do.

Singtel Incoming Call Ring Duration

with 9 comments

Yuting has something useful for Singtel Mobile customers.

If you’re a Singtel Mobile customer, and your incoming call duration is very short, (meaning the caller automatically gets cut off only after 5 rings or approximately 15 seconds), here is THE THING to do.

Dial **61*1389*11*30#

Press send.

DONE. It works!

Now the incoming call duration should be about 30 seconds. Heh heh.

[ Update - 060309 ]

Yuting says that it’s free of charge, according to the Singtel operator.
