Worst one ever encountered.

I parked my car overnight at the open air carpark opposite Jessie’s place and the amount of bird shit which rained down on my car was amazing. Judging by the uniform colour and highly-liquefied nature of the mess, there is no doubt that the birds have diarrhea.

I could not bring myself to take a close-up picture. Neither am I cleaning it up.

I believe there will be rain over the next few days.

Attended a wake today with Jessie and the uni mates.

My second time in a single month, it shows that life is fragile and highly unpredictable.

Our deepest condolences go out to our classmate and his family.

When couples argue.

Everytime I see a news flash of the North and South Korea tensions, I think about my two male South Korean friends who risk being mobilized in case of a war. The last time I saw them was in 2009, when they spent 3D2N in Singapore and we invited them to stay over at our place.

I emailed Jin Ho and Yongjun yesterday to ask how they were doing. Yongjun replied this morning with lots of pictures together with his wife. Apparently his wife is 8 weeks pregnant and he’s getting married at the end of next month. Here’s a portion of his actual reply, which made me laugh:

First, thank you so much for worry about our safty.

We are OK.

There is no way to occur the war.

Don’t worry about it.

And say thanks a lot to your sweety parents and sister. ^^

I have been using the Sony Ericsson C903 for almost 6 months with no problems.

This one particular error resulted in my entire phone being flashed by the service staff.

1. My phone hung up on me while I was sending a text message. There was no way to turn the phone off so I had to manually remove the battery.
2. When I turned it on, all menu functions were disabled. Selecting the menu resulted in a persistent error message: Configuration Error : Contact your network or service provider. I could only make calls with the phone by manually keying phone numbers in (there was no address book).
3. I brought it down to Sony Ericsson Service Centre at Simei. They took about five days to fix the problem and I lost everything which was store on the phone.

When I collected my phone, I had the following conversation with the technical staff…

Me: Any idea why the phone crashed?

Staff: No idea. The software got corrupted.

Me: You mean there is no explanation why the phone software got corrupted?

Staff: Yes. It just got corrupted.

I was supposed to have dinner with Jessie and her best friend, Chee Nin, tonight at Tampines Mall. Told Jessie to go ahead without me because I had tons of work to do. So I stayed at home for the entire afternoon and night just to finish up my work.

After dinner, Jessie and Chee Nin (who drove her over) paid a surprise visit to my place with a cake!

The last 6 weeks of school have been forecasted as hell-weeks. A total of 12 assignments, presentations and tests will be due then.

This week is supposed to be our term break, but I doubt anyone of us is taking a break.

It’s Wednesday now. I have about four full days to finish up as much as I can.

Probably the toughest written exam in the world.

Wow. I’m speechless.

We were sitting at a cafe working on our group presentation for a good 5 hours before we were told (politely) by the staff to leave. The crowd had started to come in and other cafes were all packed.

Desperate to finish up the presentation, we ended up continuing our work on a ledge outside Iluma @ Bugis.

Do you feel that Room 101 challenges relate to real life experiences?

Colin: Being adaptable to all situations is definitely a plus-point in real life situations.

Moreover, determination plays an important role in nurturing how much self-control and analytical skills I have.

Farid: Things don’t always come your way. We should learn to accept it. We are not born equal. Some of us are rich and poor. It’s about learning to accept the environment which you are in.

My friend’s mum passed away yesterday.

His text message came as a shock to all of us. I had to re-read it twice before I was convinced that it was for real.

We just came back from the Bangkok trip and were still in good spirits, then tragedy struck…

I just hope that we’ll be able to help him pull through this difficult time of his life.

Was at the wake just now. His sorrow was immense but he managed to put up a brave front as he sat down and talked to us. All the condolences and support offered may make him feel slightly better. But I believe that only time can truly heal his wounds.

By the way, thank you Chubb for the $10 parking ticket.

Do you feel that Room 101 challenges relate to real life experiences?

Ethan: Focus!

I have learnt the importance of not rushing through challenges, but instead, to take things one step at a time. As a drama teacher, this campaign has helped me to understand the “breaking point” of students. I am now able to formulate challenges to test my students to see if they have the “never say die” attitude in them… like I do!

Luke: The word would be tolerance! Tolerance-building! This is important in the real world as we cannot chose whom we want to work with.

Studying in a “creative writing” course requires me to stand out from the crowd. I strive to be different from others in my works.
