I would never kill a house lizard. I think that they have an aura of innocence around them. Everytime you get close to them, they freeze up and look at you as if they really do not know what is going on.
Do me a favor, fucking click on the link above. Do it now. Look at the first picture…
Now tell me, do you really want to kill that poor little creature?
A week ago, Jessie and I spent 10 minutes chasing a house lizard off my car. We were about to get in and drive off, when I noticed a house lizard sitting quietly on the roof of my car. So I got out and tried to sweep it off. The poor lizard panicked, and scurried into the bonnet. Fearing that the heat from the engine might kill it, I had no choice but to pop my bonnet to get it out. I saw it again, sitting there near the edge of the wiper, obviously in shock. I tried to sweep it off but I failed. The lizard started crawling into the car. Jessie was quick to react and flicked it off onto the floor. We spent almost 3 minutes ensuring that the lizard was well away from the car before we drove off.
Today, I went shopping for roach poison. I saw a particular brand which boasted of not only killing cockroaches, but lizards as well. Instinctively, I chose another brand, which purely focused on roaches only. Both were of the same price. But I felt better knowing that the lizards in my house are safe.

Penang 2008
3D2N trip to Penang with Jessie, Michelle and Robert, from 181208 to 211208.
We stayed at G Hotel, located along Gurney Drive.
View from our room.
Deluxe room. The 4 of us still had to squeeze into one bed.
It was Jessie’s first trip to Penang, so we brought her to visit attractions such as…
Sleeping Buddha temple.
Sleeping Buddha temple.
Penang hill tram station.
Kek Lok Si Pagoda.
Kek Lok Si Pagoda.
Climbed to the top of the Pagoda.
We also visited other relatives…
Auntie’s shophouse.
Grandma’s house.
Dinner with relatives at Thai restaurant in Sungai Dua.
Michelle and I visited Heong Giam Si Temple, just outside my Grandma’s place. We paid our respects at this temple, where my grandfather’s, uncle’s and cousin Hong‘s urns are kept.
Heong Giam Si Temple.
Jessie and I met up with my good friend, Kenderick in Penang, who brought us out to Queensbay Mall, which is as huge as Vivocity in Singapore.
Kenderick and I.
The three of us had lunch at Queensbay Mall.
Komtar.
Gurney Plaza, just right next door to G Hotel.
First time visiting Prangin Mall. The crappiest and most disorganized shopping mall I have ever seen.
No trip to Penang will be complete without trying out the food.
One of the many food stalls which we stopped by.
Charcoal steamboat.
Penang Chendul.
Breakfast at A&W outlet.
We gorged ourselves silly with Penang laksa, popiah, Tok-Tok mee (also known as Wanton noodles here), Kuay-Teow soup, curry noodles and the list goes on and on. We had most of our meals barely three hours apart from one another!
There are a total of 273 pictures in the album, which I can’t post all here. Go have a look and decide if you want to visit Penang during your next trip to Malaysia.

Tribute to Boo
Boo, the Roborovski hamster.
Jessie had a Roborovski hamster named Boo. This was one of the few Roborovski hamsters which allowed strangers to cuddle it. The rest would just scamper around, biting and chewing at anything they came into close contact with. Jessie and her mum cleaned the cage, spending almost an hour playing with Boo everyday for 2 1/2 years.
After a battle with a tumor growing around its throat, Boo would only sleep when it was cuddled. When Jessie released Boo into its cage, it would insist on crawling back out into Jessie’s palms and falling asleep. Those were the last few nights before a tumor in the stomach took its life.
Today, we rushed the hamster to the Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital. It was barely breathing and in a lot of pain during the journey. The vet told us that the hamster would not last till the end of the day. We could either euthanize Boo, or leave Boo to die.
Wiping away the tears, Jessie gathered enough courage to sign the form, allowing Boo to be euthanized.
That was the bravest thing Jessie ever did. It was the right thing to do and Boo would be so proud of her.
I’m happy that Boo is in a better place right now, away from all the pain and suffering.

Standard Chartered Marathon 2008
Our race bibs.
Jessie, Michelle, Robert and I took part in the Standard Chartered Marathon 2008 on Sunday, 07/12/08. Jessie, Michelle and Robert ran the 10k, while I ran the 21k.
Jessie and I.
Michelle and Robert.
I experienced some funny moments during my 2 1/2 hour run…
I watched a guy pour a cup of 100-plus (mistaking it for water) all over his head.
The fat guy I was pacing (in the beginning, because he dared to shove his way through the slower runners and I followed behind) farted like 30 minutes into the race and I had to overtake him because I was holding my breath!
Some guy threw an empty cup up in the air and the cup landed on someone’s head!

In the midst of packing up my room, I found 30 packets of condoms stashed away in a drawer which I conveniently forgot about until today.
Throwing away those valuable jimmy hats would be a waste. So I went into Michelle’s (my sis) room, squat down next to her…
Me : Michelle, do you need condoms or not?
Michelle : What?
Me : I got 30 packets in my room. I just found them. I don’t want to throw them away.
Michelle : Crazy! For what? Give them to Jessie.
Me : Jessie doesn’t need them.
Michelle : Why?
Michelle was speechless for a moment then she burst out laughing. I went back to my room and continued packing.

In 2 weeks time, I’ll be moving to Changi Rise. The tenant hasn’t moved out yet. I can’t paint my room, but I can start packing now. I don’t want my room to be in a mess when guests turn up for the housewarming party.
I reorganize my room every month, throwing away stuff that I don’t need. My personal belongings can easily be shoved into two boxes and transported over.
However, it gets fucking frustrating when half of the items in my room do not belong to me. Circuit boards, mechanical parts, woks, fucking ceiling lights, tons of screws of different sizes, bags and… lots of fucking bags. Dust, all over the mother fucking items! Let me explain to you how they all ended up in my room.
So every month I reorganize my room…
Me : Do you still want the stuff up there in the cupboard?
Dad : Put it there. Next time we can use.
Me : How do we use it? *holds up a bunch of wires*
Dad : We… *blah blah*… repair.
Me : Can we buy it when we need it next time? Chances are, we will never need them.
Dad : Of course we will need them! What if… *blah blah*… one fine day…
Me : So I throw it away? When we need it, we buy again. We can get them anywhere and they are cheap.
Dad : So you think you’re very rich right? Buy this… buy that?
Me : Then what do you want me to do with all that junk?
Dad : Keep them!
Me : Ok, I’ll keep them. But someday when we move, its your problem.
Dad : Up to you. *what the fuck does that mean?*
Fuck. I’m leaving all the junk in my room and moving only my own belongings. He can sort that shitty mess out by himself.
