Christmas 2006
We both reached Singapore at 9:45pm, rushed to 7-11 to get some gifts, Jessie wrapped them up, dropped all our luggage over at my place, and we drove full speed down to Pang’s place.
Reached there at 11p.m, by that time Puang, Elgene and his girlfriend Carol have already left :(
Pang, thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to prepare the food, and being thoughtful enough to leave some behind for us.

(Waikian trying to hide his face, as usual)
We had a gift exchange later on and we had a lot of toys to play with.
There was even a remote controlled UFO which we used to cut Waikian’s hair.

The first thing that I realized when I stepped out of the bus – Nobody was wearing three- quarter pants. And screw me, I was freezing as we waited to check in. 15 degrees. We unpacked and had Kenny Rogers after that.

I love the way they combined a shopping mall with an indoor theme park.

After which, we decided to check out the casino. The guard decided to check us. FWAHAHAHA. No fucking problem! And it was a wonderful feeling walking around the casino without being thrown out. We decided not to gamble, just in case the itch came, we would lose everything and have no money to enjoy ourselves.
The shops here were no different from the shops you see at any Singapore shopping mall. The prices were equally the same. Just take every price tag you see, divide it by two, and there you go.. not much of a discount. The mini-marts here were seriously out to rip tourists. A can of beer costs RM11. A bar of chocolate costs RM5.20. Fuck you, we’re going downhill. And so, we took the SkyWay cable car all the way down to Gohtong Jaya where we bought lots of beer at a reasonable price of RM6.

The 15 minute ride was fantastic. The view from above, the cool mountainside breeze blowing into the cable car, I felt totally at ease.
There was no fridge in our hotel room, so we chilled the cans of beer by placing them on our window ledge.

We had our dinner at the food court, where we paid almost RM60 for bah-kut-teh. But it was worth it, considering the portion.
Ended the day with a 4D MotionMaster ride. It was totally crap IMHO, basically just a 3D simulator with "mist-blowing" capabilities that upgraded it to a so-called 4D experience.

Our breakfast everyday consisted of a healthy diet of cup noodles and instant coffee-mix.

Today was theme park day. Adult ticket costs RM37 for 1 whole day’s worth of rides.

The rides were good. The only one I left out was Space Shot. I just have no balls to fuck around with gravity.
But Flying Coaster made up for that and for the first time in my life I got spun around 360 degrees in a Superman position. Next to me was this New Delhi boy.

New Delhi Boy : Is your first time?
Me : Yea.
New Delhi Boy : It’s my second time. You’re going to enjoy it. This ride is brilliant.
Me : Okay. Good.
*With our bodies in a Superman position, we were slowly raised to about four storeys in height*
New Delhi Boy : Oooooo.. here we go..
*And the funniest part after that…*
New Delhi Boy : Ahhhhhhhhh-*pause*-ha-*pause*-ha-*pause*-ha-*pause*-ha-*pause*-ha
It sounded really really awkward. Because in between the screams, he tried to scream and nothing came out! And I burst out laughing halfway through the ride. (Oh and btw, this ride ain’t included, for whatever reason, in the all-day-ticket, you will have to pay an additional RM10 per ride, but it’s worth every single cent I tell ya)
We spent almost 5 hours at the theme park before we left for dinner @ Pizza Hut. The sumptuous meal of pizza, garlic bread, and a pitcher of Pepsi which we couldn’t finish, cost us only Rm30+.
After which we headed down to the Casino. I couldn’t believe our luck at first, we won RM100 at the Jackpot (just kept betting 20 lines, and doubling the returns). Kept RM50, and the rest we threw it on Keno, a variation of the popular game Bingo. We lost terribly, but at least we still have RM50 to smile about. I saw one old man crying like a kid at the casino toilet basin. Probably lost quite a lot of money, I felt bad for him.

We were in the lift around 1:15pm, on our way to check out, when we read a large sign in the lift …
"Our official check out time is 1200 noon. Please call extension XXXX if you’re unable to check-out on time. A fee of RM75 will be imposed on those who check out after 1200 noon. Thank you".
Luckily there was this "Express Check Out" box in front of the lift which we hastily dumped our keycards into and ignored the sign.
The ride back to SG was horrible. It was afternoon time, the sun was really hot and the short winding roads made me feel really nauseous. Horrible horrible combination.

To sum it all up, I did enjoy my time there, but avoid the mini-marts please! One mini-mart can sell a bar of chocolate for RM5.20, and another one directly below out hotel can sell the same bar for only RM3.20. Cup Noodles cost a ridiculous RM4.00, I would rather bring my own there.
I would go back there again, after Singapore’s Integrated Resort is up, just to see how they’re going to fight the fierce competition.

Christmas Presents Came Early This Year
Went out after work to meet Jessie and her best friend Chee Nin who just came back from Melbourne. She’s one of the rare people nowadays, whom you can, by observing the way they talk and react, tell that they are really good-natured individuals. I’m glad that Jessie has managed to keep in touch with Chee Nin for so long, even though they’re so far apart.
It’s getting late and I have to wake up at 5:00am tomorrow. Sorry. Read more about it here : http://jselicious.blogspot.com/2006/12/daily-dose-of-jselicious-21-dec.html (opens in a new window)
I received my presents early this year! From my sweet lil girl Jessie.
A beautifully written card with little Hedgehogs all over it. Limited edition Calvin Klein boxers which she managed to grab off the counter in time. Quick-dry microfibre Levis Underwear (underwear, yes, not thongs, even though they’re the "quickest" drying).
D&G perfume and a Guess watch, which she bought while out shopping with her mum. She refuses to tell me the price of the watch even after hours and hours of pestering her.
Thank you so much my dear. I’m stunned! I have to start planning a counter-surprise, quick.

Dad bumped into Wenbin and Trisha today at Tony Romas.
"Eh, Wenbin here also. Heh heh! Really. You hear his voice" and he passed the phone over to Wenbin.

Went out for dinner after work with Jessie and her mum, in search of a wonton mee stall at Jalan Kayu that was featured on some variety show.
I think the shop’s name is "He Ji Noodle" if I remembered correctly. Really really good stuff. Parking is a real problem there, if you’re lucky, you’ll get to find a slot right in front of the store.
